Eileen Gray designed the Roquebrune chair for the terrace of her second home in Castellar. It was intended to make it very comfortable as it had to be inserted into an outdoor seating area. Initially a blue canvas was used for the seat and backrest.

Later it was finished in leather for internal use using the same structure. Thus was born in the 30s another product that became a design classic: Roquebrune chair.
